A query for those with several:

I only have the one watch (well, I have a digital $8 watch from Walmart due to the requirement of a 'stopwatch' for some parts of my job, but lets not get into that right now ), so it stopping is not really too much of a concern to me. I keep it on all day and it rewards me by charging itself.

For those lucky few (however numerous on here) to have a collection of perpetuals, do you let them stop ticking between uses? Do you wind them nightly? Do you have one of those auto-winders?

I was manually winding them or just letting them stop and then resetting. I just bought an orbita winder, it is working great. The winder is a luxury, but then again so is having multiple Rolex watches. You can't do anything wrong by manually winding, and it's kind of fun. Just enjoy your fine timepiece any way you want.

When I bought the winder, I figured that if I am spending $4K to $5K per watch, I should be able to get a $300 winder for them...

most of minie are manual wind, but I keep them all going at the same time.
I wind them every other morning on the odd days.
I just like to see them all at the same time. Makes it easy to just grab one & strap it on without having to set it.

I use this 2 head dual winder to handle 4 of my automatic watches and store 6 more. It's programmable, quiet, worked well so far.

On watches that I don't wear vey often I try to wind them once a month or so. Doesn't hurt them to set unwound at all.
On those pieces that I wear on a regular basis, I have a winder, but mostly for non-quick-set pieces--that's a pain.

I keep mine on the watchwinder. My everyday wear SS Sub date, I leave on the end table overnight.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a winder for those who have small wrists? I have the smallest wrist of anyone I know and I can't use the winder that Alcan uses since the pillow is too large for my watch. The only winder that I've found is the Shaper Image winder but that is a single watch winder.

Doesn't Sharper Image make a watch winder with two watch winders of the same name brand as the single watch winder? Thought I had seen one.

I use the same winder that Al (Alcan) has. I have had it for over a year now, and it works beautifully!

Unfortunately, the watches were not included!

Well sometime it is a little bit difficult to keep all of them always ticking...

But I would try my best to have them manually wound when I don't wear them...but sometime you can't avoid to have some of them stopped ticking...

For what it's worth, here's what I did because I had the same issue as you. I bought some foam and just custom cut four pieces the same width as the pillow hole, but slightly smaller in length. I wrap the watch around the foam and set the clasp and then just shove it into the winder. It doesn't look quite as spiffy as the 'luxury' leather pillows, but my winder lives in my closet, so it's not on public display anyway. But my watches do fit snugly on the foam, the foam fits snugly into the holes and everything is well in my watch winding world.

I've got the same model winder as Allan and Al, and the cushions came with a removable outer ring. With the rings on the cushions were too large for my bracelets, but without them everything fits just fine.

Mine are between and betwixt. With the outer ring in place, too big. Without it, too small. For my lighter weight automatics, I use just the outer ring and smoosh it down. It holds them in place. For my heavier ones, I cut and tapered foam to build up the inner cushion to the right size. It ain't elegant, but it works.

I have about about 8 watches and tend to wear only the same few during the week. So about once a month I set them all to the atomic clock. Kinda fun to see how they all compete with accuracy. Setting a watch not worn for a while is relaxing to me. Each has it's own idiosyncracies when setting the hands to line up perfectly [kinda anal about that ].
No news to everyone here the Rolies are the most accurate.

I am going to (hopefully) have two Rolex watches soon. And I don't know if watch winders are good or not.

Some say that watch winders will wear the parts of the watch down prematurely, even those winders that make pauses during the winding cycle.

Wear the 16570 and the 16600 alternatively,keeps them wound.The 16613 gets wound and set when it gets wrist time.

Now thats a good idea, I have two autos and the SMP has no quick-set so once it gets far behind I feel like leaving it a month until its right again!
