This is exactly why I have a large safe deposit box, and an alarm (that I use!).
You might get lucky, but you can't wipe me out. I imagine there is a similarly long list of his lady's jewelry. It's a real shame. I'm sure he had insurance, but the collection will never be the same.

This is really sad, I hope it all works out. I'm really disturbed by it.
It's not so much the watches, it's all the care and time taken to amass the collection and all the energy put into that. Very sad.

Awful- I hope they catch the guy/guys! We have been seeing so many robberies as of late and the stakes are high. I hope everyone takes proper precautions. I would never have more than one watch on me or in my home at a time- and on my wrist when home. Even with a safe- you are so much better off keeping a safety deposit box at the bank. That is the only true safe way- locked away in a vault- better safe than sorry. This is a true shame and hope justice is served. Let it be a lesson for us all though!

I hope they catch the thief and the watches are returned. As a collector myself insurance is the only way to at least get money back if this happens. Its not cheap and many risk it without.

Indeed awful, pit of the stomach type news.
A lot of these types of watches for sale at any one time on the boards and ebay, partial serial numbers at least may help if we are able to be of any real assistance. |
