New shoes! Lots o' pix! Toshi almond
when i first picked up my 164 about a month ago, i was convinced that the OEM gator and rubber would keep me busy. that lasted about two weeks, as dalip went and posted his 24 on an almond toshi and, within 15 minutes of seeing the post, i had ordered mine.
it came yesterday! how a strap can change the look and feel of the watch....it's exactly what i was hoping for as part of the PAM ownership experience. the quality of the stitching is superb and the finish of the strap exceeded my expectations. it's casual without being overly casual, which is the balance i was going for, and i dig the color for the warming weather. i was a bit nervous about the sewn in brushed pre-v buckle, thinking it would be too large, but, on the wrist, it just seems to "fit". and the smell of the new leather! rich at toshi straps was extremely helpful, guiding me through my first strap purchase, and patiently answering questions i'm sure he's heard a 1,000 times. i'm very happy with the experience. i took a bunch of pix last night, but it was late in the day, so, i had to switch to flash to give a better sense of the color. here's a mix of non-flash/flash: thanks for looking. |

thanks very much! wearing it with a light blue dress shirt right now and they go great together. update: i showed rich a link to this thread and he mentioned i had put the strap tail on back to front. goes to show you the quality of the strap that i thought the underside was clean enough to wear. i've just switched it and, it's true, the stitchinig and holes are cleaner/nicer. guess i'll have to take more pix some day. |

nice Toshi strap. here's another strap for you to consider, a Simona X-1 Bruno diver strap mounted on my 243 Submersible.

very nice! thanks for sharing. i think the bruno diver looks great on a PAM sub, but, i think i'd probably go for the classic bruno for the 164. maybe mustard? i also quite like the look of their gators.....wheat, grey/green, blue, steel grey....too many!! |

Looks great Cru! Congratulations...the color is a perfect choice for summer and the strap is a perfect match for your 164.
Any ideas what the next strap will be? It took me exactly 2 days to order another, once I bought my first one.

agreed, that would be cool to see. from the Web site, the almond looks a tad lighter than it does in real life, so, i would imagine that maybe the caramel does, too. |

awesome Cru - it looks great, especially with the brushed buckle to match the case
as mentioned earlier, the Toshi strap will only get more comfortable the more you wear it. |

"yummy"...i like that.
many thanks, my friend. Quote:
thanks! yeah, given the size of the pre-v, i thought brushed was the way to go, and it lets the polished bezel and crown guard "pop". mmmmmmmmmm is right! |

i was feeling a little bad posting all those pix of rich's excellent strap with the underside showing.
then again, i guess it's his "fault" for putting together such a nice strap. so, i got home last night and decided to take a few more pix to show how the strap, stitching and holes are supposed to look........ |
