Really happy with new GMT-II
Hi all,
This is my third attempt to post this week, the others vanished. My new watch is the black bezel GMT-II and the fantastic thing about it is the fact that it is -1 sec. every 24 hours. It is without question, the most accurate Rolex I have ever had out of the box. My new Sub date that I bought last year was -5 seconds a day. THe GMT is also more comfortable, less weight, and I love the 24 hour hand. I am totally pleased. I was waiting to purchase the new stainless GMT, but after seeing pictures of it, and it's proposed $6000.+ price, I think I made the right choice. I cannot take the polished center links on the new model, a major mistake, I think. Now I just have to go up flying with it! |

Congrats on the GMT II. Isn't it just luck of the draw that your watch is -1 sec off? I mean there are Subs out there that are that accurate as well aren't there?
I am interested in that GMT II though. Glad to hear you are so happy with it. I'm currently saving up for my first Rolex and I was initially dead set on the ND Sub, then switching to the Date Sub, then maybe a SD and now I'm seriously considering a black GMT II. You guys are driving me crazy and keep changing my mind. |

haha mfer....isnt it tough to choose....?
a black bezel 16710 is a good choice......slightly more stealthy than a pepsi but retains all the features.....

The only one I have tried on the Sub Date (brother-in-law and friend have one). Thing is they didn't fit because they have larger wrists than I do. I don't know how any of them will fit on me and I know that is important. I have a 6.5" wrist so I know many of you have said that the Sub will fit me perfect b/c of the half link. If I want the SD or the GMT II I will need to send it off to Rolex for them to cut one of the permanent links off for me to center the clasp. The reason I'm thinking the GMT II so heavily now is to get a new one prior to them going extinct. I like the look of the new SS one, but at 2 grand less for the "old" one I think I can cope. I can always scratch up some more coin for a Sub or SD (wife doesn't know that yet). I have at least one more year before the next Basel world and the possible feared replacement of the timeless Sub, SD or Exp. |

Then Rolex decided to "upgrade" the Gmt II, so I've had to put a deposit on one before they disappear as well. The current Z series Rolex sports watches are classic, beautiful and timeless....whichever one you chose will be a winner |
