Glycine Watches

Hello all, was wondering if any one had an opinion on the brand. I understand they use fairly basic eta movements, but I really like the design. Here are the two I am very fond of. Any opinions and or real life experience would be great.

Thanks

I heard they are quite great, movement is simple and reliable. The diver/sub design looks great, fresh in design!

I owned an Airman D24 once. I found the finish and build-quality very good, but with that particular watch, the lug design was a bit peculiar. With the steel bracelet and end-links, it was fine. When I switched to either the leather strap or rubber strap (both were Glycine products supplied with the watch), the ends of the lugs protruded beyond the surface of the strap, and the lug tips were sharp.

So this may not apply to the watches you are considering.

How was that for a useful post!

A few weeks ago, I asked the same question for opinions on Glycine. I got a few responses, generally good, so picked up a combat sub, orange bezel, blue dial. The build quality seems good, the bracelet uses pins, the accuracy is typical 2824. I did have to tweak the endlinks for a better fit of the spingbars...perhaps a quality control issue? Or, I suspect it was a strap model refitted with a bracelet and sent out by the AD. I liked the watch enough to not hassle sending it back, and just fixed it myself.

I love my Glycine Airman SST 06 aka pumpkin.

The quality if this watch is unbelievable, considering the price.

Here is my post when i bought it, with a lot of pics:

It's a darn shame that the Glycine brand was recently purchased by Invicta; it will be interesting to see if Glycine's good standing remains, or if the products morph into more TV rubbish.

I've had this Airman 9 for at least 10 years. It's been serviced once. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a second hand. I sometimes use the long chrono hand as a second hand. Otherwise it's a great watch. Keeps good time; I rarely have to set it. I keep it on a winder when I'm not wearing it, but it is part of my regular rotation.

This brand has been around quite a while and I think they perform well above their price point.

I'd say they are a lot like the older Omega offerings quality-wise and most, if not all, are Eta base movements so service is possible anywhere on earth.
