Names and parts

Will some one explain what different words mean. Red Sub. How is that so different. nipple dial. What does that look like. Plus other things. There are a lot of newbies and we really do not know what some things mean. Thanks for your patience.

Red sub: Submariner writing is in red vs. white
Nipple dial: Hour markers are in gold vs lume and look little nipples.

The red sub is referring to the "Submariner" text on the dial...(In red)
The nipple dial refers to the unique shape of the hour markers on some of the vintage models....

Try using the search button near the top of the main page.....You be surprised what you could find on your own!

In fact if you go down to RacerX thread titled 1680's strapped you will see great example of both Red Sub and a Gold Sub with nipple dial.

This pic shows the "nipples" of the nipple dial. You can see that the hour markers (in gold) are raised and slightly pointed.
