not had a great deal of experience with bank transfers before but my last attempt took 2 days or less from UK to a US bank, is this average or can it sometimes take 7 days & over UK to a European bank ?

For me - within EU , between UK, Jersey , Austria and Czech , its always been from a few hours ( within the same bank ) to 2 days max - working days , that is....

Banker here....it generally Should be completed within the same day

I just had someone buy a car from me from Norway. He sent the money and it was in my account 12 hours later.

can take up to 72 hours, depends on the bank. UK to OZ can take 36-48 hours. just depends
