GMTIIC Movement
This is kind of an odd ball question but did the very first batches of the GMTIIC have the 3185 or did they start out with the 3186?

LMFAO if you found a 3185 you will have the only GMT IIC of this kind. We shall call this rare specimen the "error GMT II C" movement lol.

Yes, the 3186 movement wasn't introduced till the late Z's and all M's prior to making way to the 116710.

Rolex 116710 GMT IIc with 3185?
Hi,
Is it possible? I was looking at one today. Early Z serial. It had 3185 movement. I was under impression that 116710 had 3186 in it. |

Are you sure? I see dealers advertizing on-line 116710 with 3185 movements. I am pretty sure that one I saw was 3185. Is it possible that Rolex used 3185 in early Z serial 116710?

No but if you opened the case and if they were not stamped its doubtful if most could tell the difference

AFAIK there are no early Z serial 116710's. Z9xxxxx ser and newer received the 3186 movement in the 16710.
Which baffles me as to why they didn't put the blue spring into the late 16610 3135 movement. I've got a random ser no 16610 produced late 2010 but I believe it has the Nivarox inside. In saying that it's more accurate than any watch I've owned with the parachrom. |

Not a chance it would have 3185.
Perhaps you could show the place where this could be seen? |

I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of 116710's out there with a 3185 in it.. although it wasn't there originally.
That's why there are so many overpriced 16710's with a 3186 in them on the Internet now days... smart crooks are changing them out to rope in uneducated buyers..
