PANERAI: Dark of the Collection
There are a lot of awesome black Panerai watches - 360 and 335 come to mind. DLC, ceramic, plastic. Regardless of materials, they're all black. What are your thoughts on the style? What do you like about the look?
I'll be taking my DLC Base for a week in Mexico to attempt a reboot. Great watch but I'm getting bored of the 'stealth' / 'black on black' look. Even with different straps, the Spark seems to have disappeared. Please forgive my use of Transformer references, I watched the latest release yesterday with my son and I spent the entire movie contemplating my watch. To quote Optimus Prime, have I "made a grave mistake"? |

I love the look mate Mike. I've seen some really nice contrasting colors against the black - even a purple like color that looked really sensational!

Black with a honey strap or light vintage looks friggin great....big fan. Maybe black on black is a bit much, so switch it up.

Well, it is a nice alternative to wearing SS all the time. I'm not sold on the brown composite. Seems a little too unusual for a watch, but I reserve the right to change my mind once I see one IRL.
For me my favorite colors are SS, but I'd like to own a DLC and a RG one day. |

The brown composite is almost black, unless on really bright light.
The black dlc or pvd is a nice touch every once in a while, but I will not make it my daily wearer.

The 339 is really brown when compared to the 292 I like to add a black piece but I can see it getting old...but that's why you got other pieces...

Not a look I have, however a bit of this and a bit of that is always nice for the sake of variety. Put it aside if you have other options, you may find the Luv returns after you wear something else for awhile.

I for one think it looks great with the OEM black rubber strap.
That's one of the few Panerai watches I would actually own, it's amazing. What can I say? I have a soft spot for blacked out watches as you can see:

I think the Black on Black looks best.

I love a blacked out watch. But at time pass by it could be a very good piece to get bored easily as it has no flashy feeling in it.
IMO, i dunno, but since you already mod it, maybe add gold hands or maybe bake it...might give it a different look and new life to it...just my 2 cents |

I like the way it tones things down as opposed to a polished stainless steel. However, I think I like something less dark like the old oem pencil grey pvd, titanium, or even tantalum.

I would easily say that, the Panerais are about the only watches i like blacked out.
