Hi all, I've just noticed there is a tiny stain on my second hand dial on my 14060 T serial. The color of stain is a like dark green sometime it looks like brown in the different angle. This stain only visible if my watch not in the bright spot. So if I wear my watch in a good bright place so the stain hardly visible. Is this stain indicate that my tritium will turn to be patina or corrosion or this is because moisture or something else?. Sorry I cant post the picture because I cant capture the stain with my handycam

I would not worry about it, as long as you have the watch checked annually for water resistance you should be fine. The tritium does change color with time. That is a great watch.

I just wonder what kind of stain it is. because this is my first rolex sport with tritium and still need a lot of information about this things. how does check my watch for water resistance has relation with changing color of tritium dial?. does the process of changing color on tritium dial started with something like stain?. did anyone have a picture a process of changing color on tritium?. many many thanks with your info and answer

hi all, I just got the example picture for stain on my second hand dial. I took a picture from internet (sorry if this belong to someone). My second hand has stain similar like this but mine as not big like this. On my second hand the stain could clearly visible if you put my watch in low light room. anyone can identify what kind of stain is it?. I attach the picture.

Often old Tritium hands age and tiny cracks or pin holes appear. Maybe at a past repair or service someone re-lumed the hand or stabilised it with some adhesive substance and now the added material is ageing a bit. Certainly nothing to be concerned about

PS ..by adhesive substance I mean some light liquid that soaks into the lume then hardens to make it stronger and not break up

Very common. Eventually, all the tritium will change color. Do a search on the vintage forum. There are dozens of posts about the aging of tritium. Don't worry about it. It adds character.
