The only dead giveaway, and im no expert on the milgauss but like all contemporary rolex watches with the engraving on the rehaut, the rolex engraving should line up with the indices mostly with the centre of the letter, the engraving also looks a little shallow!
still a pretty good quality fake, quite scary really.... |

The orange lume at 3,6,9 looks like a 10 years old applied it.... it's also the wrong shade/color and it's spotted.
Glad you were not taken... |

engraving is a joke,
2.look at the orange lume? it looks diseased 3. That green is so light comapred to the original 4. The lugs are too rounded 5. the word milgauss is not aligned correctly 6. the white script is far too thin and dull also its the wrong shaped coronet on dial unless i am mistaken good fake ..

As a newbie and not yet up with the many intricacies of spotting a fake, even my untrained eye picked up the poor application of the lume material on the majority of the numerals but in particular at 3,6 and 9.
It just doesn't look 'Rolex quality'. |

Trust me folks, it is easy to see the cosmetic imperfections when the watch is magnified 5x. But when you just hold this and with just the naked eye it is very difficult to tell... so when in doubt, use a loupe. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk |

Too many giveaways there. Also, if you can, take pics of the back of the lugs, the finishing looks like it was dine with a Brillo pad.

I knew right away without even having to see the details. Once you have handled many rolexes, you can just tell that something isn't right even if you see a good fake. On that one though, it was the orange Lume that gave it away immediately.

The end-link spacing is probably the deadest giveaway. Plus it has the serial number 'tween the lugs if you take off the bracelet.

It's not flush to the case and the lugs. You shouldn't be able to wiggle it back and forth, but in the fake one you can.

That is a good fake, as it were. Appalling that they go to such lengths. The rectangular lumes are dire, though, and the rehaut engraving is pathetic. Easy to see how someone would get taken by it, all said. Great spot.

Please, disclose the full serial #. These should be common for all GV fakes.

sorry didnt see it was already written - crown should be at twelve, x at 15 and r at 45 i believe, with the rest of the letters being centered over the minutes.

Three more things I noted as I swiped pics of this one and mine back and forth several times.
The Rolex crown on the fake. The five ball tips are larger. The hour hand. The rectangle lume is thicker on the fake. The bezel on the fake (face on view) appears to overhang the casebody. Not flush and contoured like real one. I'm sure the green 'crystal' on the fake is also just hued glass or lens coloring as well. The real GV is amazing when viewed under sunlight. Here's mine from Atlanta AD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
