Warranty Card
Anyone know a way of changing the name on the new warranty card, the name is hand written in ink, I just want to remove the ink then write in my name.

I wouldn't do that. It's like altering a document and actually looks worse. If that bothers you a lot, then consider buying it new. That's why one of my friend who has tons of Rolexes and does just that except the vintage pieces

If you try to rub off the ink or erase it on the new warranty cards, it exposes "void void void" printed on the white. It's just like on the new style checks and other negotiable instruments.

You cannot do this, just leave it the way it is... If the watch is still under the 2 year Rolex warranty they may still honor it even thought it is not in your name
Whatever you do, do NOT alter the card as mentioned this will VOID your warranty

I take it you bought the watch from a grey market dealer.
I agree that you shouldn't alter the warranty card. |

YOU LIVE IN AUSTRALIA ( or scotland) WARRANTY GOES WITH THE WATCH NOT THE PERSON. It is only in USA that warranty goes with the person.

Yes living in Australia, I bought the watch from UK grey market, 4 weeks old, but saved nearly $4000. The shop did say the warranty card will have no name on and that I could write my name on, it was dated. Its just a cosmetic thing I will never sell but I would have preffered my name on the card, I plan to keep the watch serviced so all that paperwork will be in my name. The dealer has offered a full refund but the watch (Submariner C) is fantastic,

If you paid $4000 for a Sub C, then you may have scored the deal of the year.

If you really want your name on it then you might want to consider buying it new. Like said previously, Rolex may still honor the warranty. Besides chances are you won't need no stinking warranty anyway.

I called RSC in Dallas TX and asked if they honor the 2 year AD warranty even if the watch was purchase in another name. I was told yes! If you really want it in your name you could get it service and then you get another 1 year warranty card with your name on it.

What is the service interval, if the watch is worn daily, but mainly in the office, also what is carried out at each service, is there a 12 month, 2 year service etc,

5 - 7 years is the service interval that Rolex recommends. Some people find that they can go longer, while others believe it best not to. But anyway this link gives you an idea as to what happens during a service.

Luckily for those of us in the USA, this policy has changed. I have called Dallas and NYC RSCs to verify that the warranty now goes with the watch.

With the European Warranty Cards I think you can use acetone but I would not try it. The RUSA Warranty Cards are different.
