SS Daytona why wait..........

.........could you guys help me with something?. Having just bought my first Rolex an SS sub/date which I love, I also managed to get on the waiting list for an SS Daytona ( I know, I know don't laugh!!!!) given this could take 5 yrs or more my question is this.
If Rolex have a price increase each year by the time my number comes up would it be cheaper to get one from a reputable grey dealer now?
What do you guys think????? ( go easy I am a newbie )

Thanks

Given the price and/or condition of the watch you could make an argument that it would not only be cheaper to buy it now but you will be able to enjoy it for the next X years. Or you could buy a fake now and replace it with the real thing when your number is up. Mmmm, maybe not.

I am not so sure that "lists" are followed. You bought one Sub.....Say they had a list and some big spender came in and spent 100 Gs and wanted a SS Daytona thrown in for the deal. Is your AD gonna follow thier list? I doubt it. I don't trust these so called lists.

Personally, I would only buy the SS Daytona at list, or a very small premium.

I can't bring myself to pay big money over list as you are paying for the bull$shit factor, the artificially contrived rarity/exclusivity factor.

I was able to get a very exotic and rare gold Daytona for a few hundred pounds more than the price certain dealers were asking for their "under the counter" SS 116520.

If you can't wait and have the fund...Go for it, life's too short. There's no waiting list at local AD's, SS Daytona goes to "good" (spendy ) customers, but it all depends on the AD. Got my SS Daytona at AD for list price, I like the watch and am glad didn't have to pay more than I had too
