Icon2 Need help fron canadian member on trade

Anyone can tell me which AD in Ontario Canada will accept used Rolex as trade in on a new Rolex? Most AD in Canada will only sell new but not used.

Joseph Anthony in Windsor will accept trades and they have a small used case but any AD will give you a tiny fraction of what you could get selling privately.

Joseph Anthony is worth visiting though, they have the largest selection of rolexes I've ever seen, the store is massive. They also have tons of other brands like JLC and Montblanc pens. Plus, they give good discounts.

+1 that's where I bought mine, he's not lying about the huge selection, but I haven't seen the used case. They will do trade-ins, and if you bought from them will give you what you paid toward a new piece valued 2x.

Although they are not in Toronto, they are a good AD to work with!!
Just don't expect a good trade in value wherever you try.

ANYONE, that attends this shop is completely 100% INSANE. These are the most disrespectful people I have ever dealt with on many levels in my life.

My SUB bezel wheel turned black/frosty for no apparent reason. Called RSC Toronto and because Joseph Anthony is the ONLY dealer in Windsor they told me "Bring it to him, he will ship it to us, we will repair it and send it back to him where you can pick it up"....

I attend the store. Clerks surround me echoing "can I help you today" smelling a sale no less.. I tell them the story and they all look each other up and down, me up and down... Finally the old fart himself comes out.

Now I can't remember the exact words used here because it's pretty much a blur but to paraphrase, here are some of the questions asked to me...

Where did you buy this? Oh Spokane WA? When was it brought into Canada? Do you have papers showing you paid duty and taxes on this? Where is all of your paper work? How many pieces of ID do you have?

All the while I'm getting more cheesed off inside. The RSC said bring it to him, he takes it, they fix it and return. The RSC was SO nice on the phone. This guy treated me like a thief.

I will post interject here that I am a former Police Officer in Windsor, a man in my late forties, and certainly consider a $2,000.00 gold bracelet on one arm, SUB on the other, a Windsor Police pendant hanging around my neck, ALL my Rolex paperwork in hand, Dockers & RL Polo shirt certainly not LOOKING suspicious. I told him to call (woman's name) at RSC Toronto, gave him the number, he refused....

Either way.

THEY TOLD ME TO LEAVE THE STORE. Not asked me to. TOLD ME to LEAVE. They would not have anything to do with me or my issue.

RSC Toronto flipped their lids when I did a 3 way call back to JA Jewelers when I got home and had them repeat what they told me in the store whilst the RSC listened in on the call.

They're hacks ! the complete lot of them. They only want to service what THEY SELL and to hell with anyone else.

I had a call from Rolex Canada about 3 weeks later apologizing for the misunderstanding and they assured me that JA was re-introduced to the handling of their customers. Needless to say. I or anyone I can tell or talk out of doing business with.. will ever touch these guys.

I did get a really nice gift Rolex box back from RSC Toronto and a little note with a smiley face from that woman inside...

Why pay an AD price when one of the really trusted sellers on TRF will work with their own AD and give you a better price?

I found that the the AD's in Canada are giving a better discount than the online dealers.

Take some clear shots of your watch in natural light, post an ad here or on VRF, priced in the market, and you will have the money wired directly to you in a couple days. Much, much, more than a trade.

Then buy the watch here from one of our trusted sellers, or then go to an AD, if you want the AD buying experience, which is very overrated, IMHO.
And chances are the members here know more about the watches than do the salespeople at the AD.

Best advise, IMHO. Good luck.

This story reminds me of Gemoro in Edmonton.. Embarrassment to the timepieces they sell.
