I think they have enough work with Rolex than reading watch forums.

Who knows if they read TRF, but they would be remiss to ignore enthusiast commentary.

The top brass at Rolex HQ and Rolex USA are aware of the forums but it is the minions who lurk around these parts.

It is my understanding that they have a number of employees who monitor and join forums. They are well aware of what is being written, said, sold etc on all forums.

I would be willing to bet there is someone at Rolex that reads this forum. I have been a member of Corvetteforum for a while and they have GM reps that spend a lot of time on the forum. I know that they have received some very good input from there as well and have made changes because of the input of the true enthusiasts.

I think it is entirely possible the same thing applies to degree here as well.

I'll bet somebody from Rolex USA keeps up on the forums. It's all about marketing strategy and understanding what the buyers and potential buyers are talking about that matters. They want to sell watches so it makes good sense to keep aware of what the Rolex enthusiasts are talking about both good and not so good.

I would argue that a mere sliver of Rolex buyers post here.

While someone at Rolex may peruse this forum, the lion's share of Rolex watches are purchased by the general public who don't give a monkey's bum about Patina, PCls, lug holes, bracelet "stretch" and on and on and on.

YUP, I'd bet most Submariner owners don't even know it's a sub, to them it's a Rolex. Submariner? What's that? Oh, it that what it says on the dial

I had that exact same conversation while waiting to get a haircut one time.

Me: Nice Submariner.

Him: It's a Rolex, not a Submariner.

Me: Yeah, a Rolex Submariner.

Him: Oh.......yeah.....ahhhhh....

Me almost outloud: Moron!

I totally agree, and if there is somone from Rolex who has paid even brief attention to this forum I doubt it's on tips on how to refine their products.. ha ha ha.

To most in the world, a Rolex is a Rolex, it looks nice and it's of a good quality. That's where the interest stops.

I think a lot of people underestimate how much companies in today's technological environment monitor online forums such as these and social media platforms. It essentially is free advertising and market research (think focus groups). They would be stupid not to.

I think the people that land here are a very slim part of their customer base. They already have us, they don't need more info about us.

They're busy trying to figure out the fellow that walks into a Rolex AD and plunks down $30k for a DD because it looks nice. These folks they want.

I think if there are Rolex employees who watch this forum, then, they should give us all a free Rolex!!!

I really think a person who is employed at Rolex would be to busy to look at watch forums unless they are employed to study the watch forums. It would be like asking a doctor to monitor other doctors work when he has a full work load already. Besides Rolex has been around for 85 years before the internet was formed, they are quite adapt on what is happing without the internet.
