GMT Bezel Won't Turn
Anyone have any ideas why my Bezel on my GMT 16750 won't turn. If it does, it is very diffucult and requires a lot of pressure. I do notice when I pop the bezel off and try to put back on it requires a lot of force to get it back on properly. Do I just rest the washer on the case and pop the bezel on top? Is there anything i'm missing?
Thanks |

When was the last time it was cleaned? My GMT had the same problem and over the years sweat and grime gathers under the bezel and makes moving it very difficult! Any watch shop can remove the bezel, clean it, and you'll be back in business! I can almost guarantee that the problem is oil and soil under the bezel.

It's really clean. The issue is getting the bezel back on is really hard, and once its on, you really can't move the bezel hardly.

I have a 16750 and it has a friction bezel. Mine is stiff unless I push down on it when I turn. Are you pushing it down while you turn it?

16750 bezels are made to push-down then turn.

The 16750 has an auto lock bezel which requires a downward force to allow it to turn. So no worries.....it's normal.

You are supposed to put the washer on the body and then insert the little index-finger.
Then put the bezel on and after popping it on, you should turn it a little. If it's still hard to turn. try to put less groove on the washer (bend it to a flatter shape). |

I familier with pushing down and turning it, which is normal. But with mine, it requires a serious amount of force down & left or right. I'd almost say it doesn't move. The watch is clean.
The interesting thing is that when the insert is not on the bezel the bezel turns as normal. As soon as the insert is on the watch, it is useless again. |

I wonder if the washer is shot for some reason. I also notice it requires a lot of force to get the bezel back on the watch.
