Just Sea-Dwelling it...

It's was a hot day in AZ. Thanks to my trusty SD(ultimate tool watch), it made it a pleasure to get this shot in. Silly grin still emerges.

Show me your SD/tool watch.

PS: You can see the awesome coronet at 6 o'clock near second hand.

I just got my SD back. I traded it for an LV and then traded the LV for a SD, I missed the weight

Here's my beater. It was the first A-series Luminova, replacing the Tritium in 1998. Boy did people hate that switch at the time. Tritium has a half life of 12.5 years, so it glows about half as much in 12.5 years, and half as much again (1/4) in 25 years. I suppose tritium dies with the original owner. Lumi doesn't work that way. I agree about the weight and I have this a bit looser than my old Daytona.

The watch isn't hard to get. I wear the SD at the pool, on the beach and while snorkeling. I use it for an egg timer and I use it to keep track of time while hiking in the mountains. I do use the rotating bezel to "start" the timer. I've used it for dives but the modern tools are better now. I use the timer on the dash of my porsche when I'm speeding in it or fooling on the track. I haven't used the Daytona to time anything. So, are you spending time in submarines lately?

no submarines for me, but plenty of time on the track on my bike, just wondered about the SD love....im not knocking it at all just wondered as a suit wearer i found it very hard to wear with a cuff and since the sub was such a killer watch anyway i chose that, back in 1996 still own it today

Most people mistake my SD for a non-date submariner. The old SD was generally unpopular until they came out with the new one. I can wear mine under a cuff and my wrists are said to be "standard" Rolex wrists or a tad smaller depending on my hydration. My wife hates the cyclops, so I have the SD and an older Daytona. I'm still eyeing some older subs with the serti dial for some dress occasions. Perhaps it is the US navy color scheme of blue and gold?

many of us SD lovers don't do deepsea diving. just love the look and comfort of the watch. SDDS doesn't work for me but SD4000 goes well with my shirt as my Sub. the clean look of the SD crystal and the presence of the HEV makes the watch that much more special for me.

I don't dive or even swim with mine. I believe only a very small percentage of SD/DSSD owners actually do dives deep enough to test their limits. As to why I chose SD over Sub, I like its flat crystal (no cyclops), the slight increase in thickness, and the smaller chance of running into someone wearing the same watch.

i dove with mine one time in palau this month. I didnt use a nato band and when I was doing my saftey stop i looked at my watch and it had become unhooked and was about to fall off my wrist. I didnt wear it again. I dont even use a computer when diving anymore. I'm comfortable enough and understand my limits plus I do really long saftey stops. So, no I do not recommend using a submariner or any SD when doing real scuba diving, plus the shiny metal can attract barracuda or even a curious shark.

Very nice pics. Out of interest, how do you time your dives then? Unless, of course, you don't go deeper than 10 M. I've dived loads with my Sub' and SD and never had the bracelet flip open, although I always have it attached to wrist lanyard.

Great pics everyone. Reminds me that I need to give mine some more wrist time even though I'm not a diver.
