Don Draper wears a ROLEX?
I hope there are some MAD MEN fans out there.
I have been watching season 4 on DVD and have noticed Don is wearing what looks like a ROLEX? I think it's a great fit for his status now as partner. Can anyone tell what it is he is wearing? |

A philanderer and a drunk wearing a Rolex? Go figure.

It's a modern Explorer 1 with a sapphire crystal.
It's the only non-period item I've seen on the show. |

Funny to hear the clank of the Oyster bracelet when Don moves his arm.

I can't find the link but a remember reading an article about this last year, and I think it is a replica (ie fake) modern Explorer I. I think they use fakes with dummy movements so the time doesn't jump around between takes.

Wasn't there someone on TRF who is friends with him and texted him? Turned out the watch is fake, I believe.
