Help me make a decision please
*Please go to poll up top once you've thought about it*
Okay, here's the thing... I've just sold my 1680 with a view to "upgrading" it a little. The two I have left are my gilt PCG GMT... and my Great White SD... Now, I've decided to go for one of the following: A red Sub, simply because it's iconic, less abundant than the white and I love the red accent on the dial; or A nice 5512, because they''re rare enough to be interesting and it would give me a non-date alternative to the other two. What would you do???

Red Sub, Tony!
To me it's more visually appealing - love the strong red against the black, those analogue colours bring great contrast.... Fewer of them and there's a bit more wow over a Red Sub...

5512 I think it will offer more contrast in your collection than a red sub

It all depends on what kind of Red sub or 5512. If you are talking about a mint early PCG gilt 5512 than there is no question. If you are talking about an MK1 or tropical Red Mk2-3vs. a matte 5512--than there is no question. Details...

I assume you are considering pieces that are not too hard to find. Not considering the ultra rare and expensive pieces, basically under $15k.
I would go for a 5512 to add to your collection. You can wear it on the weekends or anytime without having to set the date. And 5512s are interesting and collectable. |

It really depends on the watch!
I'd buy the one in better conditions, the rare... Please post pics of the ones between you have to decide

I'm a bit bias I guess, but the Red Sub would be my choice. The bit of Red just does it for me.

Well, the deal is done, and this is the watch :)
Of course, once it's with me I'll pop up an "incoming" thread with some of my own photos... a 1972, 3m serial, mkV, feet first, open 6 beauty

I like both. Since I already own a Red 1680 then the 5512 would be my next choice.

I vote 5512 as you don't have a Rolex without a date. Simple beauty
