That is a great looking watch. Pictures like this make me want to sell a few collectible to start a submariner fund.

Nope. It now "clicks" with the thread title, but I am not good at all by spotting Tudor fakes. Only ones I can pick out are those California dial Tudorlex.

Steve,

How does the Mov't look on it? That's usually the give away. I recently saw a Chinese Daytona that was scary it was so good.

Just another reason to know your seller.

The bezel insert looks terrible but all in all it's quite a good fake. Scary :(

Thanks for sharing Steve

Hahaha. I've noticed recently that a lot of people don't actually read the text people write accompanying their pictures and just quickly chime in with "Looks great!"

Dial font and spacing is off, plus the case is pretty weird looking, and that insert.......is horrible! Steve, is the submariner card real?

Hi Everyone,

I read the text, but I thought he meant he had bought the watch in China; not a watch made in China!

Till next time...

I DO actually read all of the text before chiming in with "Looks Great" just thought it was a Tudor Submariner that he just purchased from China. I didn't realize it was a fake.

That is a Horrible Looking Fake watch. Pictures like this of a Real Tudor Sub make me want to sell a few collectible to start a REAL Tudor Submariner fund.

I'm not that well versed in Tudors but isn't a blue rose dial an anachronism? Kind of a stupid fake if they never made it in the first place.

The usual tell for these cases is equal-length E pips on the case engravings - are they present on this example?

sorry guys..I guess I should have been more clear..lol
I sometimes forget that its rather difficult to belay inflections in written text.
but yes..the latest counterfeit Tudor sub..havent had one in my hands yet but in the past two weeks I have had two people offer these up..one guy said he bought his from the original owner..lol
So just be aware..the things we have always counted on in the past for detecting fakes are being improved and eventually they will have them copied..but fear not as I already have two methods that I use to detect these fakes that are unpublished (and they will remain that way!)..so we will always be one step ahead..
I have a colleague who is serious about starting a database on vintage Rolex using shavings from their cases(he says its called "X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy" )which he says has shown some clear and precise chemical markers only present in Rolex metal..
supposedly anyone will ba able to take a fingernail file and scratch the bottom of their watch, send in the file and he can determine from that if its authentic!
sounds very promising..I told him I am an investor!..lol
