Watch out! Trf member scam!!!

I have a 14060M for sale in the sale section and I received an email from mrhills0146 and he said that he would take it but wanted to ask if I was the same member from this post...When the link was clicked it put me right on the "your not logged in page" but I'm always logged in so I checked the URL and sure enough it wasn't TRF . Total scam to get my login credentials so that my user info could be used to scam other members. Always make sure you know who you're dealing with and look carefully before giving up your info.

unless the member kanger - really has relocated to the Philippines, and is selling an air king for 875$, and sending me completely different pictures of the "same" watch, he has this problem you speak of... and is currently a scammer.

I mailed him about the AK too. Luckily, I will never use Western Union though. Bloody scammers.

There seems to be another victim:
http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=189252

Read closely. Use of the same words. Also a 'ding' on the watch....

Update - I believe the link (now dead btw) went to a site which asks to you enter your TRF username and password to enter. It captures it. Like I said I reported it.

Mike

Also it would be advisable to change password immediately if you clicked on any links associated with user "hills0146".

I just got this PM from the person posting as watchcollectorca. Apparently he's hanging out with 'kanger'...

I am in the Philippines right now for the summer and my bank account is in Canada where I live, I do not have one here. So cannot do no wire/paypal as I will not have access to the funds. Are you okay with sending me payment through Western Union? I have many references and feedback if needed.

Let me know and I will give you my info.

Just spoke to William (watchcollectorca) He cannot access his account as it has been hacked so PLEASE DO NOT SEND HIM or "KANGER" any money. Hopefully the account access will be restored to the correct owners soon.

That too. I reported the listing by watchcollectorca, with the info about him supposedly being in the Phillipines.

Holy crap! I knew it! I emailed watchcollectorca and asked about the exp1 and I was told that he was in the philippines from the summer. I asked him a lot of questions like shipping procedures, payment options, reference check etc... and didn't hear back. My spidey sense told me that something's up with this posting....and then the link was gone....
Holy crap!

Yeah it would appear that there used to be a hyperlink hidden in there. This is just a reminder to everybody to check the LINK LOCATION from any shady resources before you actually click it.

Icon2 That happened to me...

And i did click that link, and he stole my credentials.

I think the most important thing that we have to understand here is, DO NOT fall for a cheap watch. This guy posted a Rolex exlorer for sale for $1550 and then i received like 20 emails from people trying to buy it, don't be fooled.

Also, DO NOT ever go for Western Union or anyhing like that.

Best regards and stay aware.

Well for me it started from a watch that I was selling not looking to buy. What we need to remember is to make sure that our computer auto fills our password when on the correct site
