The saga continues....

Some of you might have followed the thread I posted a while ago about the 1760's handmade English chain fusee pocket watch that a friend entrusted to me for repair. It needed 3 wheels which had to be made from scratch, and a fusee stop (still not quite sure what that is). It took me 6 months to finally locate a watchmaker who could fabricate the new parts required, Arthur Jones in Belgium, who took on the project. He also overhauled and re-bushed the entire movement, located an appropriate minute hand to replace the missing one, and polished the silver case.

Mr. Jones notified me today that it's now completed and he'll be shipping it back to Canada on Monday. Knowing Canada Customs, it'll probably be 3 weeks or so before it lands. So, a year from start to finish. This has been a very interesting project. You can be sure there'll be lots of pix when it lands!

I don't want to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol IS a solution!
