Looks great. I had bimmers for as long as I can remember. I currently drive a 2010 335i. That said, I DESPISE my wife's brand new 2011 newly redesigned X3 ... overall quality, fit and finish are just not there. It is seriously making me think of switching brands (unthinkable!!) when my lease is up a year and a half from now.
Can't wait to see how the new 3 plays out. |

Hard to really get a good look at it from these shots. The 3 has gotten to big over the years. Lost its way and taking its place the 1 series. Thats why I bought a 135i.

I had the pleasure of driving the 135i with the M sports kit and a short throw shifter and all I can say is "SWEEEEEEET".

The current 3 is a real good looking car but I was looking for something a little smaller, lighter, sportier and has the same drivetrain. |

Still, if overall quality is anything like my wife's new X3 ... I am staying well away from it ... maybe time to look at a Merc.

Agree--looks boxy and similar to 1 series in many respects.

My brother in law just got a x3 with the turbo 6 and has had it for 2 month but has been driving a stripped down 328 for 6 of the 8 weeks he owned it.. The door locking mechanism is broke and the window will not roll up or down and the part is on back order so they do not know when he will get his car back.. BMW at first gave him a Kia loaner and he complained that he was not paying 700 a month to lease a kea so they gave him a stripped down 328..

That's odd....everything I've read about the new X3 is pretty positive. The fit, finish and refinement is supposed to be well beyond the old model. |

I can't compare with the old model, but comparing with my 335 ... it feels like a different brand. |

I got rid of my '07 X3 back in January after driving it for 4 years.
My glove compartment was FULL of service paperwork and I was tired of frequent visits to the dealer for a variety of issues. Just became a big headache and I wasn't willing to deal with the maintenance anymore... My first bemer ended up being big disappointment. Oh well. |

Was looking to trade for something a bit cheaper since joining the military. Maybe I can hold off until this new 3 series is out to trade out of my 6 series...hm

Just had the new BMW brochure come through the other day. The new 1 series hatchback is disgusting. We have a 118 d that looks far better 57 plate. We also have a merc c 220 blue efficiency which is nice too. If you stop like the 3 series then the c class is always a good bet.
