Daytona Decision - help!
Hi guys.
I am new to this forum and just wanted to how excellent it is and how much I have enjoyed it so far. I have recently been after a SS Daytona. About 2 weeks ago I rang about 40 AD's around the UK. Generally most said they were hard to come by and the majority were not even taking names, or the list was so long it was not worth bothering. I put my name down on a few lists where the waiting time was shorter. One AD said they could source a new one with a £500 premium, but I wasnt interested. However, I considered buying one from DavidSW, but decided against this due to the risk of getting stunk by import duties. I rang up an Ad to ask his opinion regarding this and he said if I was in a position to go ahead he was getting one in (a white dial) in 2 weeks and I could have it! I was initially excited, but having done some research on this forum I am beginning to have some doubts. - is the Daytona now over-priced? - if a new ceramic Daytona appears in 2013, will the value of the old model fall? I must confess to being very excited about the prospect of a new ceramic daytona. I think it could look stunning and I would almost certainly want to buy one. If I buy one now and the value plummets then flipping it for a new model could be expensive. I am not sure what to do. I love the look of the Daytona, but my gut is telling me perhaps the sensible think to do is wait. What does everone think? I only have a week to make up my mind |
