Would you do this to your Rolex?

I have a sea dweller which I LOVE!! A friend of mine now wants to get one also. But he said when he gets his he was goin to replace the Luminova markers with small diamonds? Is this something that can be done and if so what do you guys think of it? Part of me sais leave the watch as is. It looks good in its original state. But in a way I wonder if would look fancy or cool. Since its does not have a cyclopse the diomonds would stand out. Well just a topic for some opinion.

To each his own, but it's like drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa.

And, good luck if he ever wants to sell it, I honestly can't think of anyone, except your friend, who'd want that watch.

Its his watch so let him do as he pleases. As long as he doesn't sit around and complain aobut the price I don't care LOL. Its a similar story but Richard Losee wrecked his Enzo Ferarri and then modded the crap out of it to hit close to 250 mph. IMO its his car and you do what you want to do with it. Personally I love the car and might chose it over a stock enzo. Thats just my opinion. There will always be someone that wants to do something different. As long as he isn't throwing a Timex tag on the dail let him do whatever.

he can certainly do that if that fits his style; however it'll need to be resealed and pressure tested by Rolex after the modifications...

I wouldn't do it to mine, but would definitely love to see pics of how it looks like... I m not too keen on ricing up watches.

His watch he can do what he wishes. I hope he isn't going to want to flip it later on.

Tell him he can even get a spinning rim attached to the front of the watch to match the ones on his SUV.

I think it will look cool....Rolex factory does it with most sports models.
there are after market diamond dial setters who will set his SD dial with
diamonds or rubies or sapphires - it will cost around 500.
I believe in ...do what ever makes you happy dude...kinda thing.

BTW.....he can also remove the dial, then have a smiley face painted on and it wouldn't cost as much as diamonds.

For me I don't like diamonds on a men's watch and I REALLY don't think they belong on a utility watch. However, if he likes it he should do it, he'd probably be the only one with that watch.

The only thing I could consider doing to an SD is putting on a Thomas Priek clear caseback, and even then...not sure.

I would also remove the bracelet and just wear it on a chain around my neck
