Would you keep a damaged box?

Or throw it out? I'm painting my house and inadvertently throwing a lot of stuff away...
It's from my first decent watch that came in a (at the time I thought) rather fancy receptacle.. All the leather corners are scuffed off and the felt lining is stained.. I used it for keeping "things" in. In its current state I'd be quite embarassed to sell a watch with it. Clean and keep or flingy time?

Jinder, nice avatar! Great group of guys :)

If its from a watch brand where people value boxes, keep it - why not? Or sell it if you don't have the watch anymore.

I'm throwing everything away . Just thought I'd check here first. I was half expecting a couple of certain moderators to attack and inform me that it's just a box assembled from compressed paper and faux leather. I actually still have the outter card box in pristine drawer kept condition, and all the plastic cards and paperwork, manual etc....just the main box that held the watch is in a very sorry state...

Yeah I still have the watch...though not as pristine as the paperwork it's in waaaay better shape than its box. I'm not naming any names but it begins with "O" and ends in "mega".

It can't be worth much more than 10p.

If I'm cleaning out the house and its junk its going to the trash. A damaged Rolex box holds no value to me.

Just saw you didn't even say if its a Rolex box.

It is not a Rolex box. I feel the same way however. A wrecked box for a watch I'm not going to sell is unnecessary clutter. I also have a couple of brietling bakelite wonder cases, Tag and a Rolex box (which I do like ) cluttering up the place. Some of you guys who own tens of watches must have a couple of dressers full of boxes. You don't keep your 40" Plasma TV box now do you!
