Going to buy this...
Any thoughts on value? I had the exact bike when I lived in Portland Maine in the late 80's early 90's and I have missed it ever since.

He was Asking $3500.00 ( Already bought)

Complete and original Triumph Daytona. Matching frame and engine numbers. New tires, wheel bearings, chain, battery, points, air cleaners, etc. Fairly recent repaint and seat cover. Runs and rides well. Functioning electrics. Ride as is or restore. Many new parts for maintenance and future restoration included. Clean and clear title in hand

Love bikes, love Triumph, semi knoweldgable, but check forums for sure...

The original Bonnies and so forth are pigs. Lucas eletrics, all kinds of mechanical problems, be sure to always ride with comfortable shoes.

But...

damn they are cool. Price sounds right, esp if its a runner. I would leave as is, but that's just me.

Yeah I'm not changing a thing...price sounded good to me too and he said it is ready to roll or if someone wants to refurb and make a Museum piece out of it they can do that to with it.

I like my 5513's original and not with a new Rolex dial with silver hour markers...same thing with the bike.

Thanks for input. I hope others respond. I'll keep you posted.

My brother bought a used Trophy trail 500cc when he was at Baylor
back in 1970-74? looked just like this...http://www.hemmings.com/hmn/stories/...feature22.htmlHe brought it back home and I took it out on Apache trail one summer day in 73?? (112-115degrees that day) and it broke down close to Tortilla flats....had to push it up a mountain dirt road for 3 miles or so. Called a friend with an old ford truck with no A.C. at the only phone in Tortilla Flats then
to come pick me up. He made it out there and we got the bike loaded up but
about 5 miles going back to Apache Junction the clutch went out....we had to make it back in 2nd gear going 25-35 mph....
Lesson is never take a old Triumph out unless you can push it back.
When it ran it was a blast....wheelies at 40mph etc...
and it looked like a work of art as did most all the old Brit bikes.
I bought a Yamaha 79 XT 500 because it was as close to a 500 Triumph as I could get.....but the Yamaha never broke down.

I love the look of vintage bikes. I can see the day that I might buy one. For actual riding, however, I prefer a more modern, light weight bike equipped with ABS. But anything on two wheels is cool with me!

If it runs and drives well, $3500 is a decent price. if you are going to ride it much, hopefully you know how to work on it. simple to maintain, but needs tinkering on fairly often. All parts and pieces and info for it is readily available from many sources. it'll be a fun bike to putter around on but I wouldn't want to take a long trip on one. That being said, a guy took one around the world back in the 70s and has a book about the trip.
I see you're in Atlanta, There is a large group of British bike nuts there. GABMA is the club.

Change of plans...Bought one but not the one first pictured... Seller says it has Carburetor "issues'. Man there are LOTS of Triumph motorcycles in the Georgia Mountains if you can find them!!!!

Brought this home...starts up on first kick (yes kick start LOL), Sounds...amazing. All electric is working perfect....

1979 TR6 650cc Tiger...

If I only ride it here an there...I'm glad to say I have one again.
