Rolex Prices In Cancun

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help. I am going on holiday to cancun Mexico and was not sure if it would be worth taking the credit card or if the prices are similar to the US.

Any ideas on prices over their, I come from Scotland and i am not sure if prices will be alot cheaper in the US and even better in Mexico.

Thanks Gio

With the British pound being so strong against the U.S. dollar, you should find good value in the U.S. and perhaps even better in Mexico. However, Cancun is such a tourist area that prices may be a bit higher there. If making a stop in a major U.S. city on your trek, see if you can find an AD who will give a 10% discount. Happy hunting! Cheers, Bill P.

I purchased a TT Blue Sub in April in Cancun. Discounted the watch 15% and no tax. Was delt with very professionally and had a huge selection of Rolex's. There were also AD's.

Watch out (no pun intended) for HM Customs& Excise on the way back. Wear the watch and post the box and papers back....ot take a chance with wrapping the box and putting it in a suitcase and say it is a gift. X ray will just show an empty box which you could say is a jewel box for a female relative.
I bought my ex wife a diamond ring in Cancun. When we got home one of the diamonds got loose. Sent it back over for them to fix and when they sent it back I got hammered for import duty...vat etc etc.

A good AD there is Diamonds International. They are at the mall at the north-east corner of the island up by Hard Rock; bought a Tissot and the wife a Movado there in November.

Hey, I just got back from Cancun last week and went to visit a store selling rolex watches and the price was not that great, I wanted to see how much they were selling my daytona SS and the price was marked at $15 800 US dollars. They were ready to give me a 15% discount if I paid cash! Who travels to cancun with that kind of money! Better off buying it in you area.
Have a safe trip!
David

Thanks for the info.
I checked the prices in Cancun last week and were not that great. They offer discount if you pay cash. Who travels to Cancun with over 10k in cash! Just for reference, my Daytona SS 116520 was listed at 15k there and they were able to give 5% discount if paid with credit card or 15% if paid cash!
Enjoy your trip! Gran Melia Cancun is the place to stay

Not sure on Cancun, but a shop in Cabo Sna Lucas (for got the name but the also have a store in Cancun), and they disocunt pretty similar to the US. 5% SS, 10% TT, 15% YG, plus no tax.

If I were you I try to haggle which ever Rolex you are interested in to be at least 15% off.

Cancun list prices are lower than they are in the US. For example when I was there, the TT yachtmaster was $8200 retail in the US and it was about $7380 in Cancun. With a 5% discount from the AD in cancun, I didn't think I did too bad. With no tax I saved about 1700 dollars.
