Timekeeping

I had my GMT Pepsi serviced at RSC one year ago and it was keeping great time until about three weeks ago. Now it is gaining 15 seconds a day. I do wear the watch 24/7...anybody have any thoughts???

Did ur GMT subjected to hard knocks? A hard knock would jar the watch off timing. However my 16600 SD is keeping time excellent, more so than a quartz.

Is it a consistant 15 seconds a day if so it just need regulation, and cannot see any point in wearing any watch 27/7.

Have it regulated.

It's not a big deal.

Before a competent watchmaker will regulate, he will determine what is going on with your watch. By putting on a timing machine, along with a visual inspection a competent watchmaker will know exactly what is going on with your watch. Demagnetization is part of the regulation process; and where my money is for "guess the problem".

I believe in the watch link section of TRF there is a thread on independent watchmakers. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...ht=independent

Peter, I want to live where you live. I need that extra 3 hours a day to get all my work done.

Did you try demagnetizing it?

If its a consistent 15 seconds a day then its very very very doubtful its magnetised. When magnetised they tend to run very erratic in general speed up, or completely stop and refuse to start.
