Sub-C vs PO
Okay...so my current collection consists of:
-Omega X-33 (keeper) -Omega 2531.80 (keeper) -Sinn U2 (not sure if it's a long term keeper, but a very, very unique watch that I want to hold on to for the time being) No pics yet. Just got it. -Omega 42mm PO w/ white arabics So with the above being said, as much as I'd love to keep both, there's only so much money. Ultimately, I'd need to sell the PO to help fund the Sub-C. On top of that, they're both really similar watches; size, color, type, etc. I bought the PO a month ago and while I absolutely love it, I keep coming back to the Sub-C. Literally looking at every thread that comes up about the 116610LN that I see...looking at pictures, everything. Seems like an itch that I have to scratch. BUT, it's really tough to fault the PO. It's an amazing watch. Superb accuracy...it's off less than a second a day. I really don't have anything negative to say about it. That's what bugs me: I almost wish there was something I could say about it to make this easier. I keep coming back to the Sub-C though. Maybe I need to buy both at the same time and see which wins? What say you? |

I think I just answered my own question.
There's not anything that I don't like about the PO. Just going to have to save my pennies and get a Sub-C down the road. |

There you go!
Omegas are great watches. Wish I still had my Seamaster 2254.50 :-( |

Planet Ocean seems like a reasonably priced substitute. Its really a nice dive watch. But, if you aren't budget constrained, go for the Sub C.
Its not really a fair fight...I'd argue that the PO and 16610 sub are closer competitors, while the Liquid Metal and SubC are more similar. |

Not what you asked, but, I really like that generation PO on mesh....I'd consider flipping the two other Omegas and PO bracelet for a reasonable aftermarket mesh and SubC. Killer combo IMHO.

I just gotta say that X-33 must be the king of WIS' watches.

Let's face it, if you keep coming back to the SubC, then that is the watch to go for. I'm not in the save-for-the-next-one because I have an explicit goal of never owning more than 5 watches at the time. I'm not a hoarder of things, by design.
All I can say that the Sub is a most wonderful watch, especially as a daily driver. Here are a couple of pics Works very nice on a 20mm Isofrane strap during humid conditions. This is how I normally wear it, nice jeans and shirt, I get away with that in the office in the field I work in. Don't get me wrong, the Omega is a fabolous diver, but in my book the Sub trumps it. Easily. |

IMO the PO is leagues lower than the wonderful SubC. I also believe the PO will not age nearly as well as the SubC.
Dump the PO and get the Sub! |

The sub can be dressed up and down more easily than a PO. At least i think so. Even though daniel craig wears one as bond in a tux it still looks out of place compared to a sub in that situation.

Damn, Patrick.
That looks great. Love both shots. It looks just as at home on the isofrane as it does on the bracelet. |

I would just save. I have a SubC but really want a PO. I think it's a keeper too. My next 2 watches will be a PO and a GMTIIC.

I'd just save for it. Honestly you stated that there is nothing you don't like about the watch. It's not worth flipping it for some instant gratification. I'm kinda in the boat right now. I'm flirting with the idea on "trading up"

I had a Sub C and it was a great watch, BUT, you already have a great watch with the PO. Is it worth the extra cash for a different name on the dial, because they both serve the same function.
It's your decision but I can tell you that I sold mine for a Panerai 351 and it was the best decision I ever made.

I've owned the PO three times and it was my daily driver for a year+. I had the orange 42mm (later swapped bezel to be black), had the black/white 42mm and the black/white 45mm. Loved the PO. It was my gateway into nice watches, as a matter of fact. What grew old for me after extended wear was the way the caseback felt against my wrist and overall size/weight of the PO.
I owned several Subs alongside the PO and ultimately decided that I liked the "featherweight" feel of the Sub compared to the PO. The Sub-C has some more girth than a regular Sub Date 16610, but still wears lighter and more comfy than the PO, at least on my small wrist. All that said, I still get a little bit weak in my knees when I look at my old PO photos or the ones in this thread. I still kind of wish I had one. |

+1. I really liked my PO but it had to go in order to fund a Sub-C. I still wish I had it.... I actually wish I had one of the new ones even more.... but I digress.... point of the story - I sold my PO for my Sub-C and have no real regrets doing so. |

Have you checked out the new PO chrono? I read an article on it yesterday in watchtime and it got an 86/100 pretty good review overall. Current estimated retail for a stainless PO chrono is USD $7,900.
BUT if the sub is calling your name then go for it. |

Thanks for the advice fellas. I'm just going to keep saving up for it. Its the only other watch right now that I'm really interacted in actually buying so it'll make it that much sweeter once I spend a little extra time saving up for it instead of moving my PO.

You won't be disappointed with the Sub-c.
By saving hard for it, it will feel even better when you wear it. Congrats in advance. |

You made a great choice. I think you would've regretted selling the PO even with the Sub. I'm going to start saving for a PO LM very soon.
