New COSC 14060 availible! Improvement or not?

Today, on a German watch forum, I saw a CLEAR picture of.

I have asked the poster whether I may post it here, and I have just received his approval to do so.

The new cosc 14060 is now US Dollars 7020.

Anyway: SAD that this silly marketing hyped COSC rating has made the price rise so much!

NOTE: The new "updated" 14060 STILL has holes in the case, NON SEL's ....

In my opinion that is an absolute PLUS

.......BUT: It now has the ROLEXROLEXROLEX chapter ring inscription!

In my opinion that is NOT an improvememt to the design of the watch

Anyway. Here is a photo of it. More will come (will post them later when the member has posted them, too):

What do you think of the new 14060 COSC, guys??

Is the New 14060 COSC an improvement or should it have been left as it was??

$7k? Surely not.

The 14060M was £4525.00 and the COSC/Date 16610 $5175.00

Maybe $4700 .00 ?

That price can't be right. Not when a SS GMT II is in the $5Ks.

7K?????? Good Lord!

That's $2500 more!

Anyway, I was thinking it might be a sleeper "transitional" piece if/when the larger case comes out, but not at 7K.

Sorry, typo. 4720 is what I have been told the MSRP is.

Btw: The watch was bought in Dubai.

Well if you want to pay through the nose for two more lines of script on a non date sub dial, buy the original COSC non date the 5512 much better deal

I don't like the Rolex...Rolex...Rolex... on the chapter ring and I can't believe they didn't put a SEL on it. But, I think the dial looks great

Thanks Bo!

$4720 is a reasonable price.
i'm not a fan of the RolexRolexRolex on the chapter ring.

Hmmm, I was looking to save up for the COSC no-date sub. It may grow on me but the ROLEXROLEXROLEX don't look right on such a tough watch.

But I guess we may just have to live with that when it seems that all new Rolexes will go the ROLEXROLEXROLEX route.

Looks OK to me, but the price isn't justified from the chapter ring and extra words on the dial about COSC.

I doubt it be a more accurate model than it's predecesor.

Is the bezel ceramic now?

By looking at my ceramic bezel, and how there are slight indentions where the numbers are filled in, it looks as if the bezel is the same as it always was on the ND Sub.

Its exactly the same the only difference is the added fonts on dial and C/R.And all Rolex movements produced for the last 50 years were more than capable of the Swiss COSC standard except some were tested others not pure marketing hype.

Now this is a direct quote from Watchbore estimates that at least 15,000 Rolex movements failed in 2001-2. According to Rolex, the rejects are re-regulated or fixed, and sent back to COSC until they pass.Rolex Quote. "We don’t use COSC to tell us how good our movements are," said a source deep inside the Wilsdorf Rolex foundation. "We test them ourselves. All we want is the chronometer certification, it’s only for marketing."... I rest my case the COSC test now just a pure marketing ploy.

I think it should have a maxi dial and hands, two line script on the dial, no Rolex Rolex Rolex on the chapter ring, leave the holes in the case, and SEL's.

IMO, that would be a great 14060

Maybe now with the new introduction of the 14060 my older version will be considered "vintage" and start appreciating in price.
Wishful thinking that's all

Well if its the one with the tritium dial,IMO yes they will become collectable but would doubt if the pre chronometer 14060m will.

Surprised to see they have done this so soon before the supposed introduction of the new Sub range.....perhaps that is further away than we all thought !

I think no one knows what Rolex will do but Rolex.

"Surprice" seems to be their philosophy

The 5512 is so sought after, maybe Rolex is trying to make the 14060 a hommage watch like the Milgauss. Rolex might think that instead of people spending huge sums on a 5512, having a current model no date sub on offer, people will spend their money on a current model.
I would like to see the lug holes disappear and a maxi dial.

Bo corrected the price to $4,720. Actually seems like a fair price to me. As for the RolexRolexRolex around the dial my 40+ year old eyes wouldn't be able to see it!
