There is always talk on here about new clasps. I could not tell the difference really. Flip lock etc..

Can anybody give us a history or breakdown of the various Rolex clasps of late model Rolex? Pics would be great too.

I know I am high maintenance.

Here is a pic of the new clasp on my SS GMT II. Sorry the plastic is still on!!!

The polished ss on the clasp is going to scratch easily.Should polish out nicely though.Like the looks of the polished ss,but not that practical as a daily watch.

Robb, you didn't show the expand-a-link! That's probably the best part -- well, either that or the way that it "snaps" into place with a springlike tension.

I had to charge my battery on my camera so I didnt get time to get that shot yet. But yes it is a cool feature!

Is this clasp brand new? Even more new than say the ones on other sports models? I think I have a "flip lock" clasp on my TT Blue Sub and the Crown is on the bracelet portion of the clasp, not the actual clasp.

This one is better. Lock up feels more "natural" instead of "forced". There's a spring action goin' on that makes everything feel more secure. Hard to describe really...

Seems Rolex is just following the trend of all the other Swiss Watch makers in terms of having center polished links. Example of other Watch Companies that have polished centr or outer links on their Sport Watches: GP, GO, Panerai, UN, JLC, Blancpain, Omega (on some models).

Perhaps they could have kept the bracelet completely brushed.

Here's a shot of my SD clasp and along side it the Omega SMP clasp. The SD clasp was not centered as I didn't want to scratch the side of the SD with the crown of the Omega.
