Main Line, outside Philadelphia
Hey Guys,
The fiance and I have been looking at houses in and around the Main Line. She's from the Fort Washington, PA area, while I'm from North Jersey. We've spent a couple weekends there in and out of towns Ardmore/Wayne/Villanova... We're about 2.5 years out of college and none of our friends or family live in that area (although we have friends that live IN Philly). Just looking to get some opinions on towns there. We love to go out to restaurants, spend time outside, good food/bars in town, go to parks with our dog that kind of thing. Appreciate any advice.

Clark, It depends what you're looking for and where you are working. If you're working in Philly Conshohoken (Conshy as it is referred to) is nice as is Manyunch (spelling?) for younger folks. In the suburbs, there isn't a ton going on and depends how far out you want to be. West Chester is nice in Chester County for restaurants, etc...

Just got back from halloween at a friend's place, just off Ardmore Ave, south of Rt 30.
A couple of blocks north of Haverford Ave. Old twins, very very family oriented. Very nice but not over the top. |

What is your budget and do you plan on having kids?
Radnor township and lower merion township have the best schools although haverford township (especially where coopertown elementary is) is not bad either. The nicest places are in gladwyne haverford bryn mawr villanova and parts of wayne. If you give me what you are looking for, I can make some suggestions. I will say this, there are very few young people around other than the students and it is pretty expensive. |

Secret excellent location, with character and nice older homes: Malvern.
Also, there's a mix of real estate still in Havertown, including young families there. |
