FS: Breitling Navitimer 92 - Recently Serviced - $2500
Up for sale - a rare bird in the Breitling Navitimer 92. Near mint 97+% condition. This watch takes a lot of stylistic cues from it's vintage brethren and then wraps it up in package with modern improvements. It's a beautiful watch that was serviced by a previous owner within the last year. I had my watchmaker look it over and perform any necessary regulation after I received it, so the watch is guaranteed good to go.
I could go on for quite awhile about the merits of this watch: 1. Design - There is just a unique look to the Navitimer that identifies it as a Navitimer, and this model does not stray from that at all. Despite it's smaller size, the bold dial design lends presence. 2. Materials - You'd think that too many colors on the dial would be confusing, but I think it really works with this watch. The lume is yellowing tritium, the hour/minute hand are SS (or WG), the chrono seconds hand is gold with a red-tip, the subdial hands are blued, the subdials are patterned, the dial is matte black, the bezel is white. It's a big jumble of colors, but they all really work together to create that unique Navitimer look. 3. Patina - The patina'd lume is SUPER. I don't know if it was originally yellowed when the watch was released or if this is a result of age. Either way, I just love yellowing tritium numerals. There is still some glow to the lume as well. 4. Crystal - Sapphire with a really slight dome to it. Cool. 5. Dial Finishing - I really like the matte dial combined with the lowered subdials with concentric patterning. Additionally, one of the cool things about this watch was learning how to operate the bezel. Most modern Navitimers have the "Type 52" slide rule bezel. This one has the older style "Type 42" bezel. Took me a little bit of searching to find a "how-to", but once I did, I had a lot of fun playing with it. Seems ever so slightly less functional than the newer slide-rule bezels, but I'm really never going to seriously use either, so it's fine with me. I can email the manual to the buyer if desired. Really no reason that I'm selling this watch except for the fact that I have something else in my sights and cannot afford it without letting this one go. Watch will come on original Breitling strap + buckle. Asking $2500 NET, shipped. Payment via Paypal, wire, cashier's check, or money order okay, but you cover fees based on your choice of form of payment. I will cover shipping and insurance. I have countless references on numerous forums for many high-dollar transactions. Contact me with any questions. |
