I'm not from Europe but I know the good ol USA liberated my home country (Philippines) from WWII Imperial Japan.

I still remember the history books about General McArthur esp when he said "I shall return"!

Keep up the good work!

In all seriousness, the former Brit Soldiers I had working for me in Iraq were some of the best soldiers/men I had ever worked with. Very top notch. All ex Paras, RMCs, or SAS.

I reckon I'm in Eastern Europe, or at least a region with Russian influence. Everybody call this place Straya.

If I needed help, you would be the last person I'd ask. For one thing you would probably turn up almost a month late. It's August tomorrow!

My parents are originally from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and TRF Moderator Frans ("Goodwatch"), who is also from that city, shares his first name with my brother!

I still have lots of cousins there.

I was born and raised in the USA.

Apparently, you're not from Maastricht.

President George W. Bush and Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands pause in respect
before wreaths at the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, honoring
those who served during World War II.

Chris,

I see English genetics are noticeably absent.

You must speak Afrikaans which is derived from my parents' mother tongue, Dutch.

My father -- who is now in his mid-80s -- told me of how he was taught in grammar school about the Boer War.

I bet most people are not aware that the English 'invented' large-scale concentration camps there where Afrikaners were held and starved and half the child population died.

I am well aware of it and I'm not proud of it.
