Questions about sending YachtMaster to RSC (nyc)

I noticed another thread about someone asking about the cost of their Sub going in for service.

People replied mentioning about 600-700.

Does that go for other watches as well, like the YachtMaster for example? I'd assume so but I was thinking regarding the polishing, the YachtMaster has a unique bezel that the other sports models don't have.

I guess another question of mine is do they polish the bezel? re-sandblast the non-shiney part between the letters? How does that come out and is there any reason to avoid having them touch the bezel? Is it an extra fee or included?

Please feel free to included any story, or experience that I didn't ask about. Input appreciated for those of you who have experience with this.

Thanks

I called Rolex about my husbands YM. I wanted them to just polish it up as his bezel is showing wear. He has had it a couple of years. She said I should wait the 5 years when it is due for service. The cost of service is $600 and they would take care of polishing up the bezel at that time. I asked why they wouldn't want to do a polishing in between and she said when they do that you lose some of the metal so you wouldn't want to do it too often. We are waiting to do it. I think it bothers me more than him:). His bezel is gold. I asked about my YM, it is platinum and she said it would be the same when they polish you lose metal. I didn't think to ask they must sand blast it.

Thanks for the info Susan. That makes sense to hold off and have it polished as infrequent as possible.

Looking at my bezel, the shiny numbers look decent, I see more scratches in the sanded areas between the numbers to be honest.

I've heard a bezel replacement is very expensive, especially platinum but I guess that is always an option.

Hopefully more will share their experiences, feel free to include pictures of before/after RSC shots too!!
