Tudor Tiger Prince 79260 40mm Stainless Steel Chronograph

This watch seems to come with two different dials at least on the Black version.
One is kinda "raised" numbers and the other is "painted" 3D looking...

Any idea which is older? I imagine the "non painted" ones?

Maybe the model number is wrong also...

Thanks to any Tudor Experts!

Just bought one. for 2k...Ok Deal?
Now I got to figure out what it is I bought!!!!

Pics tomorrow.

Thanks!!!

Same as below but...on deployment...This a newer dial?

That's a beautiful 79260P (P for polished lugs). And in the picture it has the proper bracelet, with brushed middle link (which is correct for Tiger dialled 79206Ps).

The Tudor chronos came with a large number of dials. 2K (USD?) is really, really good! I understand that yours came on strap? If so it should have end links for this too. Hopefully Dan Pierce or PanosI will chime in. Check out the "what are you wearing 11-11-11"-thread. I believe Panos posted a picture of his Tudor chrono on strap there.

The watch looks great! I have one of those, the last version sold and with stick dials (I have two sets of dials/hands).

It is a lot of fun for the money spent, and on the inside spins a Tudor tuned ETA/Valjoux 7750 that runs well within COSC specifications (or at least it should).

Congrats!

Make sure to post pictures when you have it!

Best,

A

looks nice, Mickey.
I like that 3d dial.. Can't say that I ever seen one before..
I too, am quickly learning about the Tudor Chrono.
I bought a 79180 last week and was not sure what it was.. It is a BigBlock and in great condition.
I was going to get a Tudor Tiger (79260?) this weekend but I will wait until next weekend. I have not seen the Tiger but I told my jeweler friend in Ohio that I would take it..
There is so much to learn about the Tudor Chrono..

I think you paid a very reasonable price..

The model reference number is 79260, and most likely there will be a "P" too (just like the "T" on Rolex models that do not have drilled through lug holes), to indicate polished lugs. When the 792X0 series was introduced, the watches that came on bracelet had brushed lugs, and the models that came on strap came with polished lugs and end links - like yours.

The strap version watches has dual sets of lug pin holes (only one pair going through the case) to keep both the end links and the bracelet in place. Later models came with dual pin holes regardless of them coming on bracelet or strap.

So, your case may be stamped 79260 or 79260P. My guess is that it is stamped 79260P, but I have seen models where the case said 79260P and the sticker on the case back said 79260.

Everything looks really fine!

Best,

A

not sure if this helps but some info regarding the Bezels.

here is a picture from the Tudor book..That's my new BB on the middle there..
79x60-black tachy fixed bez
79x70-black rotating bez
79x80-SS tachy fixed bez
in the book, these #s have a leading T and a trailing 0. None of the 3 in the book have polished lugs so no P in #.
As I understand.. 791xx was the last of the Big Blocks
and 792xx was first of the tigers but I do not know this for sure..

GUYS!
I bailed...I snatched up due to "ok" price. I realized that I really want a "Panda" of sort...White with black or Black with White etc.

It's out there for the taking...if they gave me that price I'm sure they will give it to you!

I am going to wait and find a big block or another even though it will be more $$$ that I know I will keep.

Thanks and the hunt continues.

Sorry you bailed on it as its a nice watch. Here's mine its one of the last ones made and even came with plastic coverings on the lugs and case sides as well as the case model # sticker on the rear just like Rolex. and yes the 3D letterings are on the early dials.

these watches came out with so many dial, band, and bezel combos they all came at the same time too. they had yellow, magenta, green, blue, slate, black, white with black, and leather straps to match the dial or stainless bands I remember the straps to have been very popular at the time when they were releasedI love the Tiger Tudors I would like to own one but every time I have the money I buy another Rolex instead

This catalog is pre Tiger too or maybe post tiger I would like to buy a Tiger especially now that he is back on the Rolex ad crew this watch should gain value in the collector market as the first tiger
