Gustave the killer crocodile

After watching the movie Primeval, I did a google on Gustav Crocodile, and it is in fact true. This huge Crocodile has killed approx 300 people.

It is twice the size of a full sized Croc!

Good one, Vernon....I had watched the whole documentary on National Geographic some time ago. Amazing monster of a croc....and he was finally captured, I think.

Few months ago was reading one of Capstick's African hunting books. Some really horrific stories in there are Crocs terrorizing/eating villagers in Africa.

Went to a large Croc Farm in Honduras once. Amazing how big those croc can get!

I worked in Zimbabwe in the early 90s before it got crazy.

I went with my colleague to the Vic. Falls croc farm.

Tiny crocs in their pits, what a waste of time.

On the way out, on the other side of a 3 foot wall. a MASSIVE wooden crocodile just 6-8 feet away from me.

Until it burst into action and bolted towards us, stopping just short of the wall as if not to bang its nose.

Needless to say I found that I could outsprint Carl Lewis, though a few minutes later my legs decided to stop working.

I have got an old photo of the thing somewhere. I will have to dig it out and scan/post it. It seemed 25 foot plus but maybe that was just my fear doing the measuring.

Yep, heard that crocs can outrun a person on a straight line, but they slow down when you zig-zag.
