You have to the new SS GMT in person!!

Good day,

I've been heavily debating my first Rolex purchase (well, not my purchase, my future bride's purchase).

I have been considering the SS sub-date, SD, and new ceramic GMT. Until today, I did not see the new SS GMT in person, only the many many photos (BTW, thanks for the many pictures). When you look at photos of all three, they pretty much seem to have the same general look and feel.

From the pictures, the GMT looks a little disproportionate (in my opinion) with the wide lugs and "narrow" band. Nonetheless a very nice timepiece.

However, I had a chance today to see a SS GMT in person. An AD arranged to have a recent customer come by the store to meet with me. BOY!!! You have to see that beauty in person. It look classic Rolex while edging towards contemporary. Rolex went just far enough. The band and especially the clasp look and feel wonderful.

The main difference seeing it in person is the ceramic bezel. When you look at the many close-up photos it looks like the numbers are too recessed. They are not however. Sure, you can see and feel the recessed numbers, but it's very subtle and adds a slight 3D effect.

Also, the shinny black bezel has to be seen in person. The bezels in all three models look good in photos, with good lighting and all. However, the ceramic looks amazing in person. It's hard to describe. It looks very nice combined with the polished center links. The whole watch has a nice classy look and feel.

You may recall that I was leaning towards the SD. Well, that was yesterday. The new GMT is simply beautiful and will most likely be my choice.

If you considering the SS GMT, the SD, and sub, you must see the GMT before you finally decide. I know it may be hard since there are plenty of buyers who know they want a new SS GMT, so it may be tricky to see one without pre-buying it. I was lucky to see one in person and also meet a seasoned WIS.

Just my 2 cents.
