making a stand
This forum supports and tolerates racism and I no longer want to be a part of it, take me off it moderators, I am extreemly dissapointed that the bullys and bigots have had their way again.
to the rest of you,I think your wonderful people and I have enjoyed my time here. I just cannot in good conscience be a part of something that even in a small way perpetrates racism and biggetory. I am not running away from the bullies, bullies have never scared me never will, I just do not want my name associated with the minority who spoil this forum. Goodbye! |

Ian, I have just spent a good part of my Sunday evening, not with my family, but going back and forth with you in PM's about this. Your accusations are simply unjustified and you're putting your own spin on the thoughts expressed by the posters you're referring to. At no time was any comments racist or derogatory that I could see. They simply expressed their thoughts and feelings.
After all the time I just spent with you, you didn't get your way and became upset because your ultimatums were not met and we didn't agree with you. So, instead of doing what you suggested and dealing with this in a mature manner. You opted for the over-dramatic approach and made this thread. This is not helping TRF. We're not here to cater to any one person or group. This is an open world wide internet forum. People are entitled to have opinions and beliefs different from your own, as you are, as well. We, as mature adults can either choose to look past that, ignore them or make an attempt to understand the others position and learn from it. Not adopt it nor agree with it, but just try an understand it and give them the respect they deserve for maintaining it. You, instead, chose to simply quit........I think you made the wrong choice.

I have to agree. I think that most of the posts were not harmful. Or racist.
Sorry to see you go. |

I am trying to figure this out. I have seen one rather politically themed thread (always a recipe for disaster) and one in which a seemingly nice guy posted a fake and caught some mild heat.
Beyond that, why is everybody so up in arms? Why abandon a place you enjoy? If there's a thread/post you find truly objectionable, fire off a PM to a moderator. Let them handle it. That's why they get paid the big bucks. |

"This forum supports and tolerates racism and I no longer want to be a part of it, take me off it moderators, I am extreemly dissapointed that the bullys and bigots have had their way again".
I don't really understand the comment above. I have seen in the past that the mod act swiftly to any post that is describes as above. It is unfortunate that you feel so strongly about your point of view regardless of what CJ tried to do. There is an old saying that goes like this: Grace is getting a gift that you don't deserve and Mercy is you do not get what you deserve. I am of Asian back ground living in a Western world and have my share of real racism but I will never let any of that neither ruin my day nor determine how I feel or act. I enjoy your post Ianmedium and it would be great to have you here. |

Hey Ian,
You're a good guy, and I like having you around here esp your PMs to me. Don't think I've seen any racist posts (to my understanding), but perhaps more towards Folexes in general. Pls reconsider your thoughts / decision. Regards, Vernon

I've been one of the oldest members here and have always enjoyed my stay on TRF. I've never seen any kind of racism or biggotry as you have put it. I do hope you reconsider and decide to stay. If you have a problem, it's better to PM someone like me rather than blow it all over the forum. Thanks - JJ

Ian, from the general consensus, it seems as if you should possibly re-think your decision, or just take a little time away from the site. There are quite a few members who value your opinion, and it might be wise to stick around. Just my .01, the other is lost in space. |

I can't make up my mind which of Jimbo's photos I like the most - the one with the rabbit and the pancake, or the one on the boat with the gorgeous girls.
Should I ask my wife for advice about this dilemma?!?

Oh, good lord, I'm going to have to add a "Warning: not wife- or office-friendly" tage at the end of this thread title.
Seriously, like the rest of the guys, I personally don't see what's racist and bigoted. Being Singaporean by birth, I'm not only Asian but I've got a big chip on my shoulder too - if there was something there I'd have spotted it.
