You can take it to any Rolex AD for authentication for less than $100.

You can accomplish authentication as well as operation by going to a Rolex AD that has an in-house watchmaker and having him check it out. He/she will either immediately hand back saying we don't work on reproductions or will report on the operation and if the watch requires a regulation, overhaul or is good to go.

If you bought your watch from a reliable sourse cannot see the point.Any good watchmaker could get the back off and there is no mistaking a genuine Rolex movement.

If you need to doubt authenticity.
Take it to a local watchmaker to open it. |

Take the watch in for a service to an AD. Rolex then check their register against the watch's serial number. If the watch has been registered as stolen then your AD will not return it to you but the person the watch was originally sold to. Rolex, I believe also inform the police in that area of your details. |

I'm not sure why nobody is answering your question...
The NYC RSC does not provide an "authentication" service.. They will tell you if there are non-Rolex parts in your watch during a routine, and paid for, service.

Not sure of NYC but when RSC-Beverly Hills was still here, they did provide authentication service with paper to prove it for $125.

My very first Rolex I purchased second hand many many years ago I took to the RSC in Beverly Hills when they were there and asked them to give it a look over and verify it is all Rolex parts. They did that for me for $60. They then gave me paperwork on their letterhead identiying the watch and verifying the watch as 100% Rolex authentic.

NY RSC will do an appraisal for $150.00. I assume that they will open the back and check the serial #.

My local AD said they would do an appraisal with authentication for $50 and it would take 3 days (they must have been sending it out).

This is what I found:
Wempe Does not offer authentication service. Tourneau Service will take a quick look and open the watch while you wait. No fee. Rolex NY Insurance evaluation: Current replacement value not market value, fee $150, time 7-10 business days to complete. If the watch is authentic and you want to have it serviced then the fee is waived, servicing fees begin at $600 and go up from there. |

Why dont you post some pics of it here so we can take a gander. From my experience of reading threads your fellow TRF'ers are quick to point out the authenticity
Just mho
