Never thought I would flip my Pepsi

But.....since getting the Sub C it just doesn't sing to me like it used to. A little sad to see her go but something new is coming that I'm really excited about & have wanted for a long time. My new stablemate for the Sub C should be here by Friday with pics to follow shortly thereafter.

I went from a Pepsi to a TT Blue SubC and although i loved the style of the Pepsi it was a bit weedy on my wrist. The SubC is ideal. Now if they bring out a Pepsi Ceramic......well i might,in fact would get that one.

Based on the fact that Dan has taped his mouth shut I can put in a pretty good guess..
If I'm right you've got a lovely watch coming.

I see it this way... there's going to be a thrilled new owner of an exceptionally nice 3186 Pepsi GMT, nothing sad about that at all. If I'm not interested in wearing it well then someone else should have the opportunity to do so. Way too nice of a watch to just live in my safe.

Well I have flipped a pepsi, coke and a solid black GMT II, along with a Sub C. I can say that I don't miss them one bit, there is lots of great watches out there and other brands.

Well now I don't see myself ever flipping the Sub C......actually...I said the same about the GMT so who knows....BUT for the foreseeable future the Sub C will be my only Rolex.....the dark side has been calling me for a long time....

Pepsi's everywhere are crying.

But hey, I hope the next one works better for you.

Is it one of Dan's numerous 14060's?

The Pepsi worked perfectly for me....right up until the Sub C came along, lol....I still love the idea of versatility & while I may not be able to swap bezel inserts on the new addition....I will most definitely pursue a wicked & newfound strap addiction to keep things interesting.

New Explorer? I stopped wearing my Pepsi after I got my GMT2cs. I sold it recently as well and while it is sad to see a Rolex go, I'm Dan can get you some wine and a few pointers on how to flip a watch.

Well.....I was at a Rolex AD when I found what sung to me, but it wasn't in their case, lol. The sales rep was showing me his new personal piece...one I've had my eye on for a good while but up till now have had no way of trying it on & given its 44mm size...trying it on was pretty important to me before buying.

They did have the new black dial Explorer so I finally got a chance to check one out. The watch was proportioned very well & I liked it quite a bit but not enough buy.

My coke 16710 was sold last night. Although I'm relieved that it finally sold after 2 months and 3 separate deals falling apart, I miss it already. Like the OP at least my SubC can help me through these tough times.

You misread, I have had a Sub C for quite awhile. Flipped the Pepsi for something else due to a lack of interest, not cash. I may get another at some point in the future but it will be a 1675 when and if that time comes.

A Rolex was involved in the acquisition so yes I believe this does qualify as a suitable section.

I've held off on letting it go up till now due to concerns over possibly missing it & of course not being able to source another BNIB 3186 Pepsi from an AD again should I want another. But since getting the Sub C which was many months ago....I have had zero desire to wear the Pepsi. I agree, it's a classic but that isn't enough justification (at least for me) to keep her. I'm trying to stay at a 2 watch limit these days & if something doesn't sing to me....I'll flip it for something that does. It took awhile to get to this mindset but you know what....I'm enjoying the hobby a whole lot more now that I'm not overly concerned about keeping things for the sake of keeping things. Not for a second have I regretted flipping my SS Daytona & TT Blue Sub nor do I think I will regret letting the Pepsi go.
