Icon20 TUNA Can Clasp Club Thread

Welcome to this new thread!

I am the first and honorable founder of this new club, as you can see in my signature.

Please post here photos of your tuna can clasp! Slim, it appears fragile but it is riveted everywhere and forces are very well distributed on it: this thread is all about this little piece of metal, where engineers put a lot of thoughts to create a simple, durable and light clasp designed to travel decades.

I'm in as well. I prefer it by far over the new style clasps for its rugged simplicity and great comfort.

Tuna Can thats something its not, its a fliplock or oysterlock a simple clasp that has worked well for decades.

I prefer the old clasp. Won't wear the new style, in fact. Too bulky

Tuna Can?

I don't understand the reference to "tuna can". I thought "tuna can" referred to those ridiculously large (52mm) watches i.e. "The watch was so big it looked like he was wearing a tuna can on his wrist".

As far as the old-style Rolex flip-lock clasps, I love them.

I'm getting Sub C clasps to replace all my tin foil clasps.

The old clasp may have stood the test of time, but they add no value to a Ł4k watch which should have a modern-day clasp

Great pictures I remember the first time I tried on a Rolex, I thought the clasp was the cheapest thing in the world after wearing Breitlings and Omega's. Now I love the light weight and almost nothingness of the Rolex Clasp

You polish your crown too often ...oops did that sound wrong ?

It surely is a fine, strong clasp for a 300 USD watch ...
