Is there such thing as a semi quickset for date?? I thought it was either quickset and non-quickset, period.

It's like being slightly pregnant, Vernon.

That would be unarguable fraud. Easier to tell a jury a sob story about how you didn't know, need to support wife, 2.3 kids and cat, the latter the ribs are showing because of all the chinese tainted cat food, and this guy in a bar whom he bought it from, in a dark lavatory, specifically told him it was real and he seemed very honest as he was drinking Heineken instead of PBR...

Duh, yeah!

The zero feedback sorta clinches it--and the lousy pics.

Cannot agree with you more Dan. Some fool is about to part ways with his money and its a lot of money at that. I hope the counterfeit alert was sent to ebay before it was too late.

FAKE!

And: BEST tell-tale on that specific fake:

The old style clasp does NOT belong on the new style GMT II that this pathetic watch tries to resemble.

Actually Vernon there is. It began with the 16760 GMT II. Because the 12 and 24 hr. hands can be decoupled on the GMT II, the only way to advance the date is to rotate the 12 hr. hand around the dial. It's done from the 12 hour setting position and while quicker than a non-quickset watch is not a true quick-set as found on the 16750 and 16700.

Dont you guys think the magnification of the date is off ?? That sort of stood out to me more than anything else. The Date looks small under magnification. I would personally inspect this watch with a watch maker before making a bid. People are crazy to spend $3K+ on an Ebayer that has 0 feedback.

No need to examine the watch. I wouldn't need to go past the zero feedback and poor quality pix.

You think it actually began as a real Rolex? I don't -- what did they do, totally strip it and then add the "ROLEXROLEXROLEX" to the inside of the case? My guess is that it never was an authentic piece.

I'm not qualified to tell a fake from the real thing, but even I wouldn't order that watch based on those terrible photos.

Plus, zero feedback is never a good thing...

and to top it all off - the highest bidder has zero feedback, registered the same week that the seller did, and is only bidding on one thing, this folex - smells like the buyer has a friend trying to juice this fake.

Or, perhaps a scam buster set up a new account specifically to run the bid sky-high on this item so that nobody wins it. I've done this before when somebody used pictures of one of my friends' guitars to create a scam auction.

eBay can't just take anybody's word that this item is a fake. If they don't have an in-house watch expert on the case, the auction will in all likelihood remain until the bitter end

Oh the watch is as fake as a three dollar bill. I was just answering Vernon's question about a semi-quick set movement.
