Explorer II - Real or fake
Hi
I am new to this forum and looking to buy my first Rolex. Looking at an Explorer II. Photos are attached. Communications with seller have been very good. I even Googled his name and found he is president of a small company, so he seems legit. He is willing to guaranty the watch is authentic and I would purchase with PayPal. He sent me these photos. Includes original box and papers. |

Yes, looks good, but I don't see anything about the price.

Still working on price. Hoping to get it for around $3500. It needs a 5-yr service. All-in, it will be around $4000.

I am also thinking about a GMT Black/Red. Any comments on the attached photos? I think I could get this GMT for around $4000 too. Both the GMT and the Explorer II above or 1999/2000 vintage.
Thanks again for the help! |

On the GMT: Whom ever polished the lugs and bracelet did not know what they were doing. Factor in $650.00 for RSC.

Thanks everyone, very helpful.
I am thinking that I may be better off buying the Explorer II. Although it has never been serviced, that is not such a bad thing given that I know it has not been handled by a non-authorized Rolex technician. I can send it to the Rolex Service center and not worry about a non-authorized Rolex jeweler messing anything up. |
