Need Help Pricing A New SS Datejust

I am looking to purchase from my local AD's a mens Datejust 116234, Stainless steel case, 18K white gold fluted bezel, black dial, silver Roman numerals, and Jubilee bracelet.
Can anyone advise me on what amout of discount I should be able to negotiate for this watch?
I am in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA and have two AD's that carry this watch. I never purchased a Rolex before but received a gift 10 years ago of a Thunderbird. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Well the amount of discount is down to your bargaining skills, but if the one will not bargain try the other one but aim for 10% anything over is a plus.

List on that watch should be $5,800. Being SS it will have the least profit margin and if your AD will discount I would be surprised if he went more than 5%. Ideally 10% would be nice.

Also, don't forget that if you can have him ship it out of state to a friend/relative you can avoid the sales tax which is a considerable savings!

If I'm not mistaken, PA. has no sales tax. My wife loves to shop when we go there.

Welcome to TRF!

The DJ 116234 is a popular Rolex model, but not as popular as the Rolex Sport's watches such as the Sub Date, GMT II and Daytona to name a few.

Whereas it CAN be tricky to get ANY discount on the Rolex "Sporties", you should be able to get a discount on the DJ, depending on your negotiation skills. 10 % discount is a realistic target IMHO.

Good luck, and if you get the Rolex, please post pics of it here!
