Just bought: New G Series Daytona vs. Random Serial Daytona
Team,
I've done some research, but I'm opening a thread on it anyways to have folks weigh in: we just spent $11,XXX on a brand new black dial G series Daytona. I'm having concerns I didn't buy a random serial # instead. I'd love for anyone to weigh in with an opinion. Thanks team! |

Makes no difference, the watch is the same and both are brand new.

Enjoy and as said above makes no difference at all. Rolex still shipping G series as well not that it matters. Congrats!

G series are known to run 2 minutes slow.

My BNIB Daytona is also a G. No sweat, a few serials can ship new simultaneously. Enjoy the watch!

Its just psychological, at least for me! I would prefer a scrambled SN than a G. Having said that, I bought a DJ2 last month with a G serial; just fine with me

Just got a new watch with V serial. Could not care less, its all in your head. It doesnt matter if you have a V,G or random. The only thing that would matter if its a new model such as getting a 16610 vs a 116610

Remember the G Serial is still current and is run concurrently with the Randoms.
Both are very much brand new. No worries. enjoy and relax and as Mr. Speed said above, fugeddaboutit. |

G or Random, it doesn't matter unless you want to flip it, in which case it still doesn't matter.
Enjoy your new watch!

If you're going to wear it and keep it, then no worries. If you're going to flip it soon, it may have some impact on the future trade value/ sales price.

Your mistaken. The G serial is running along with the Random currently. If you ordered a watch from your AD today and waited a month or 2 for delivery it would be a coin flip if you received a G or a Random

It's a serial number.... nothing more - Every single watch has a serial number that is unique to itself, so every one is just as rare as the other... What could you possibly envision that would be "different" between them except that unique number..

Has anyone else besides Speed heard that the G serial number runs 2 minutes slow or something similar?

There's no "series" in Rolex watches.
They are just serial numbers to identify a watch, similar to a VIN number to a vehicle. |
