I absolutely cannot believe NYC is not on this list. There is absolutely no way NYC didn't make it. There are thousands of bars and most have a steady clientele even on a Monday or Tuesday night. It seems that most social gatherings or work functions in NYC have alcohol involved.

My choice as well, not even top 10. I had some wild times in DC.

Its based on percentage of population. They are clearly looking at metropolitan population since Boston doesn't even have 600,000 people in it yet they list it as 4,000,000. The population of Metro NYC is over 22,000,000 and just a fraction of that populate bars every night so I wouldn't expect them to rank... not a bad thing

Minneapolis (22 years)
Sioux City (10 years)

And I always thought that Annapolis, MD would come in on top. A drinking city with a sailing problem! (or was it the other way around... hickup...)

Man, Seattle didn't even make the top ten. I've been stepping up my game recently, but I might as well quit drinking with dismal numbers per the list.

Well, Norfolk made it. No doubt due to the sailors there.

The midwest is well represented here! I think this may stem from the fact that we have little else to do!

I tend to agree with you, it's less so now but when I lived in NYC in the 80's it was just like a European city, and pub/bar on every corner. But two things come to mind. The shear population of NYC and clearly not everyone drinks, also Bostonian's exaggerate...

Yes! Fargo was Number 3 in the past, but it's worked its way to Number 2. Having worked in a large Fargo ER for ten years, I can personally attest to Fargo's ranking.

I'm really surprised Nashville isn't on this list. I can't throw a stone around here without hitting a liquor store or a bar.
