Tudor in gold?

I am looking at a Tudor Day-Date watch and the watch head is in gold or gold plate. I am not sure which it is. Did Tudor ever make that watch in solid gold? I have been unable to find anything but SS. Does the Tudor model number have the same model information a Rolex has?

Tudor did make some solid gold cases but that was in the early days of the brand and they are pretty rare. Tudor and Rolex do not share model/ reference numbers.

Thank you very much for your reply! What year(s) would you say that the solid gold cases were made? Were gold plated models made in the 70's, 80's and 90's? This watch looks to be 80's ish. Do you know of Tudor reference material available to determine the model by case numbers?

If I remember correctly the solid gold Tudors were produced in the late 40's and/ or 50's. 70's, 80's, and 90's would most certainly be plated.
I suggest checking the Tudor serial number data base on The Vintage Rolex Forum.

I did know about the date database. What a great resource. I was wondering if there is a model number reference guide similar to Rolex? Thank you for your assistance, you have helped me more than once and I appreciate it.
