Do you want your Rolex noticed ???
I've been thinking the past few days
So many here seem to want the green, or the blue, or other combinations so they will "stand out". I'll admit, it's a thought process I can't relate to. I've worn a Rolex for decades, and I have never bought one just because it was more noticable than another... What drives you ???? |

What drives me?
ROLEX drives me And I buy what I like and don't give a damn about what other people like my Rolex or not or if they would notice my Rolex

That's probably exactly why my GMT's have always been black/red. I think the pepsi looks sharp....but I would feel like I had a beacon on my wrist.. |

I think it's just a matter of being unique. Not so much if other people notice it.
I guess if someone else knows the differences between a Sub LV and the other Subs, or knows all that went into the new GMT as compared to the old one...and notices it on your wrist...they are just as obsessed with Rolex watches as the rest of us. I don't think any of us here wear a Rolex to be in the "spotlight"...but rather because we have a passion for what it all stands for...I don't mind so much if somoene else notices my passion for fine things...as long as they can appreciate it. |

Where I come from, and were my first Rolex was stolen, having your Rolex noticed can be life threatening. Now in Miami is a lot easier and you are not as aware that you have a Rolex on your wrist except for the occasional compliment.
Now in my particular case I just like to have good things, regardless of whether people notice them or not. I feel extremely at ease with my Air-King which by the way is the most inconspicuous Rolex there is. Perfect for me! |

I don't mind when people notice my watch... when people stare I take it as a compliment!

I wear my watch and if somebody notices, that is fine with me. Its more of me noticing and looking at other peoples watches

Stealth is the way to go...
The only people who really notice are other WIS or people who have at least looked in a high end jewellers window at the Rolex display. |

I knew nothing about watches & posted a few questions here before buying a brand new Rolex. At the AD, I tried on my baby because they did not have the one w/ the oyster bracelet.
Instantly my baby hit me big time by the love at first sight & I left the AD after 20 minutes. My baby got a lot of attention & I truly appreciate it. Above all, I appreciate this forum more for giving me tons of information about Rolex & watches. Most of you are pro. To answer the question, the beauty of the watch itself drives me. |

Just the other day I was sitting in a cab downtown when a car pulls up next to me in the traffic jam, guy with the window open and arm outside, what do I see ... nice new sub, was awake in 2 seconds. Always seem to look at the watches people wear.
Sometimes I do comment on somebodies watch but always like "nice watch..." and leave the person alone unless they start talking about it. Never had people walking up to me to say they noticed my Omega or whatever but friends and family do cus they know of my watch euhm ... obsession. So many people wear expensive watches but either don't know anything about it or really do not care so why would they notice em on the street. Seems to me that many people buy fakes just to show them of to others. |

Perhaps "wannabees" should have been laid out in better context that is less insulting to folks.
Don't think Larry meant it that way.

I wear a pepsi bezel GMT, don't think it stands out much [I'm colorblind], and it never gets noticed. The only watch I wear that ever gets comments from non WIS's is my Tag Monaco. Other than that nobody seems to care and that's fine with me.
